The MAX7219 8×8 Dot Matrix Mini LED Display Module is based on the compact MAX7219 chip, it is a serial input common cathode driver that provides the interface between microcontrollers and LED matrices. All common microcontrollers can be connected to this module using a 4-wire serial interface. Each output can be addressed without refreshing the entire display. This module only requires 3 I/O lines to drive the display, making it ideal for your microcontroller projects.
