It is a basic 16-key keyboard designed to facilitate user input and functionality. The buttons are configured in a matrix format that allows a microcontroller to "scan" the 8 output pins to see which of the 16 buttons is pressed. Each of the 16 keys on the keyboard has the labels 1, 2, 3, A, 4, 5, 6, B, 7, 8, 9, C, 0, *, # and D and is formatted in the same way as telephone keypad with a resistance at each key press of between 10 and 625 Ohms. We also made sure to create an updated pinout for this keyboard, as it is different from the 12-key keyboard. The pinout is available in the Documents tab above.
